Professor Wolf Linder

Professor Wolf Linder was awarded an Honorary Kitabistan Citizen in 2023, for his endless and significant contributions to Swiss democracy and democracy as a whole.

Biography

Wolf Linder is a renowned professor of political science and a member of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Science Council. He served as the dean of the Institute of Political Sciences at the University of Bern from 1987 to 2009. Professor Linder has extensive experience working as a political expert on international projects in several developing countries.

His primary research areas include Swiss politics and democracy in third-world countries. His works on democracy are widely referred to by many think tanks and political analysts in Switzerland and other countries. Wolf Linder has also served as a specialist in numerous government bodies in Switzerland and development agencies across Southeast Asia, Africa, and Central Europe.

Before entering his academic career, he was a member of the Cantonal Parliament of the Canton of Thurgau and a substitute member of the Cantonal Court.
