Professor Laurent Goetschel will deliver a speech at “KITABISTAN TALKS”

For this edition of "KITABISTAN TALKS," we are honored to host Prof. Dr. Laurent Goetschel, director of "Swisspeace" peace research institute and professor of political science at the University of Basel.

On June 23, at 17:30, the conference "The Significance of Peacebuilding in Times of Geopolitical Changes" featuring Professor Laurent Goetschel will be held in the "Gaia" hall of the "Landmark" hotel.

"Swisspeace" is a practice and research institute dedicated to advancing effective peacebuilding based in Switzerland. This institution operates to reduce violence and promote peace in contexts affected by conflicts.

 

Laurent Goetschel is director of Swisspeace and professor of political science at the University of Basel. He was a visiting scholar at the Centre for European Studies (Harvard University, Cambridge MA), at the Centre for International Conflict Resolution (Columbia University, New York), and a senior fellow at the European Institute of Peace in Brussels. Laurent Goetschel served as the political advisor of Swiss Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheline Calmy-Rey from 2003 to 2004.
