Co-Founder of Kitabistan Participates in Important Summit in Brussels

Malak Hajiyeva, co-founder of the Kitabistan Research Center, participated in the 2025 Eastern Partnership Civil Society Summit (EaP CSF Civil Society Summit) held in Brussels.

The event, held from December 2 to 4, brought together over 250 civil society representatives and experts from the Eastern Partnership countries and the European Union. The main goals of the summit were to strengthen democratic resilience, combat disinformation and hybrid threats, enhance regional security, protect human rights, and increase the role of civil society.

Organized by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF), the summit focused on the contemporary challenges facing the region. Through various panel discussions, strategy sessions, and networking opportunities, participants explored collaboration prospects in combating disinformation and hybrid threats, promoting regional security, and protecting human rights.

During the summit, Malak Hajiyeva shared insights about Kitabistan’s activities and experiences in promoting gender equality and combating disinformation in the region.
As part of her visit, on December 2, Malak Hajiyeva attended the EaP Civil Society Forum Award Ceremony held at the Belgian Senate.

The ceremony began with an opening speech by the President of the Belgian Senate, Vincent Blondel. It was followed by remarks from Christophe de Nijs, Director General for European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, and Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement, highlighting the importance of civil society in the region.

Additionally, Malak Hajiyeva participated as an observer in the voting process for the Civil Society Forum Resolution, monitoring and ensuring the integrity of the election procedure.
