Co-founder of Kitabistan Participates in OSCE Chairpersonship Conference on Gender Equality

Malak Hajiyeva, co-founder of Kitabistan, participated in the OSCE Chairpersonship Conference on Gender Equality held on May 6–7 in Vienna, Austria.

Organized under the Chairpersonship of Finland, the conference titled "Building Resilience through Inclusion and Empowerment" focused on a wide range of issues including gender equality, women's role in peacebuilding, cybersecurity, and women's safety. Throughout the conference, Malak Hajiyeva took part in various high-level panel discussions addressing current challenges and solutions in these areas.

During the panels, particular emphasis was placed on the rising hate speech targeting women journalists, the institutional and cultural barriers women face despite their invaluable contributions to peacebuilding, and the devastating impacts of war on women. Issues such as the proliferation of weapons into urban areas leading to increased domestic violence were also highlighted.

Malak Hajiyeva emphasized that the experience gained during the conference would be effectively utilized in Kitabistan's future projects and stated that gender equality is fundamental to social justice and sustainable development.
